Leonard is a lawyer based in the Solomon Islands specialising in commercial and administrative law.
Leonard obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the South Pacific, Port Vila, Vanuatu. He gained his Professional Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of the South Pacific, Suva, Fiji and later on completed his Masters of Law at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, Honolulu. He is in the process of completing his Bachelor of Business Entrepreneurship (Candidate), School of Business Administrations in Solomon Islands.
He has a wide range of expertise including advising on criminal, civil, family and land acquisition, workman’s compensation and unfair dismissal cases. He has drafted pleadings, submissions, sworn statements and other formal legal instrument, memorandum, purchasing agreements and conveyancing agreements.
Leonard has appeared in trials, hearings, and ex parte hearings before Magistrates Court, High Court and Court of Appeal and argued cases before Trade Dispute Panel on unfair dismissal.
He is a former Magistrate of the Solomon Islands National Judiciary, and has been legally admitted to practice before the Magistrates Court, High Court and Court of Appeal (Provisional admission. He is currently in candidacy for unrestricted admission.
In his spare time, he enjoys mentoring youths and young adults on: goal setting, career paths, and capacity building.
