Maito’o Hauirae is a Principal with over a decade of experience advising on public law, international legal frameworks, and commercial matters across the Solomon Islands and the wider Pacific region.
Admitted to practice in the Solomon Islands, Maito’o has built a strong career spanning government, international organisations, and private practice. Maito’o has held senior roles within the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, where he advised on treaty development, international cooperation, and complex regulatory matters. This experience provides a deep understanding of government processes, legislative frameworks, and cross-border legal issues.
In private practice, Maito’o has advised clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, intellectual property and consulting on specialised research projects for international entities.
Maito’o holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary University of London, complementing his Bachelor of Laws from the University of the South Pacific. He also holds professional diplomas in Legal Practice and Legislative Drafting, reflecting a strong technical foundation in both advisory and legislative work.
